IBM Watson Health, based in Cambridge, Mass., has announced several expansion plans. Here are 10 things to know about the supercomputer's new strategic initiatives.
1. IBM Watson Health is expanding its IBM Watson Health Cloud with the introduction of the IBM Watson Health Cloud for Life Sciences Compliance and the IBM Watson Care Manager.
2. The IBM Watson Health Cloud for Life Sciences Compliance is designed to help biomedical companies bring medical innovations to the market more effectively.
3. IBM Watson Care Manager is a population health tool that integrates capabilities from Watson Health, Apple's HealthKit and Apple software framework ResearchKit.
4. IBM Watson also opened its new global headquarters in Cambridge, Mass.
5. The company announced new leadership, including Deborah DiSanzo as general manager.
6. Additionally, several healthcare organizations will begin to leverage IBM Watson's capabilities. New partners include Boston Children's Hospital, Columbia University in New York, ICON plc in Dublin, Ireland, Sage Bionetworks in Seattle and Teva Pharmaceuticals in Israel.

8. ICON, a global drug development solutions and services company, will apply Watson Clinical Trial Matching to its breast, lung, colon and rectal cancer trials.
9. Teva Pharmaceuticals has been selected as IBM Watson's first Foundational Life Sciences Partner for the Watson Health Cloud.
10. "Teva's pioneering digital health vision, reach across global markets, extensive portfolio of medicines and significant industry experience make them a preferred life science ecosystem partner for the Watson Health Cloud," said Mike Rhodin, senior vice president of IBM Watson.
