Virginia Rometty, chairman, president and CEO of IBM, is receiving a $4.5 million performance bonus for her work in 2015.
Ms. Rometty’s bonus comes at a time when the company has reported falling revenues for 15 quarters, and profit expectations have decreased three times since late 2014.
For fiscal year 2015, IBM reported $81.7 billion in revenue, down 11.9 percent from the previous year’s $92.8 billion. Additionally, the company’s profit for fiscal year 2015 fell 12.3 percent from $46.4 billion in 2014 to $40.7 billion in 2015.
Ms. Rometty’s total 2015 earnings have not yet been reported, but her base pay for 2016 remains at $1.6 million.
For 2014, Ms. Rometty received a $3.6 million bonus and 6.7 percent raise in base compensation. In 2013, she forwent an annual bonus because IBM was not performing well.
