Two-thirds of hospitals use EHR systems from Cerner, Epic or Meditech, according to data compiled by HIMSS Analytics, a subsidiary of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society.
The data, which HIMSS Analytics provided to HISTalk, describes the EHR market as broken down by hospital bed size.

2. Verona, Wis.-based Epic: 23.4 percent
3. Westwood, Mass.-based Meditech: 19.4 percent
4. Mobile, Ala.-based CPSI: 11.1 percent
5. Chicago-based Allscripts (including clients it acquired through its recent purchase of McKesson's health IT business): 10.1 percent
6. Franklin, Tenn.-based Medhost: 6.8 percent
7. Herndon, Va.-based Harris Healthcare: 1.3 percent
8. Houston-based Prognosis Innovation Healthcare: 0.5 percent
9. Watertown, Mass.-based athenahealth: 0.5 percent
10. Chicago-based GE Healthcare: 0.3 percent
