Online job search resource HealthITJobs.com has launched a tool allowing job seekers and health IT professionals compare salaries with their peers.
Data are collected from participating HealthITJobs.com members.
"As it is increasingly hard to fill highly skilled positions in health IT, this tool can help to provide insight into compensation levels," said Tim Cannon, vice president of product management and marketing at HealthITJobs.com. "Our members now have a guide to help them better negotiate health IT job offers."
Those using the tool create a salary profile, and the tool compares their responses with collected data from other members. Users can compare salary by ranking, average salary by experience, organization, location and job function.
"With the current skills gap in health IT, our members are faced with more and more opportunities," Mr. Cannon said. "We hope the salary tool will make finding and selecting the right job for our members easier than ever."
