Digital health startup AliveCor selected Vic Gundotra as CEO, according to mobihealthnews.
AliveCor provides mobile echocardiogram apps and devices.
Mr. Gundotra is taking over the CEO role from Euan Thomson, who was serving as interim CEO since August 2013.
Mr. Gundotra has long worked in the technology sector, spending 15 years with Microsoft and then seven years at Google, according to re/code. He also created Google+, the tech giant's social media platform. Mr. Gundotra left Google+ in 2014.
"I am thrilled to become part of the AliveCor team," Mr. Gundotra said. "Being able to understand what is going on inside heart disease through data analytics and machine learning has the potential to change the way we think of and participate in our healthcare."
