OnePartner HIE, the first nationwide, physician-owned health information exchange, has opened to physicians.
The HIE aims to connect providers with various electronic medical record systems and help physicians achieve the meaningful use stage 2 requirements for data exchange.
"Across the care continuum, physician practices use a wide variety of EMRs and, until now, those disparate systems, which previously were unable to connect to one another, have prevented providers from sharing valuable patient information," said OnePartner President Scott R. Fowler, JD, MD, in a news release. "We are excited to bring OnePartner HIE to doctors across the country to help breakdown these barriers, unite the medical community at large and ensure that all healthcare providers have access to the information they need to provide the best coordinated care and deliver value to their patients."
