Epic implementation creates 100 jobs in Ore.; 3 Cerner contracts; Allscripts reports record bookings; IBM launches cybersecurity unit — 11 health IT key notes

Here are 11 recent news updates on key health IT companies.

1. Nashville, Tenn.-based Ardent Health Services selected Epic's EHR for all its hospitals and clinics.

2. Alder Hey hospital in the United Kingdom is introducing IBM Watson to improve patient experience.

3. Digital health marketplace Zocdoc has integrated its patient scheduling platform with Epic's EHR.

4. IBM Security is taking a stab at cybercrime with the launch of a year-long research project and the creation of a new arm — Watson for Cyber Security.

5. The city council of Verona, Wis., unanimously voted Monday to close the tax increment financing district that includes much of Epic's headquarter campus at the end of the year.

6. Three health systems selected Cerner's EHR: Cape Girardeau, Mo.-based SoutheastHEALTH, Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, and Boca Raton (Fla.) RegionalHospital.

11. Though Cerner reported an increase in revenue in the first quarter of 2016 compared to the first quarter of 2015, revenue fell short of the company's guidance range.
