Chiron Health partners with athenahealth's 'More Disruption Please' for telemedicine offerings

Austin, Texas-based Chiron Health has announced a partnership with Watertown, Mass.-based athenahealth's More Distruption Please program that will focus on linking physician practices with the resources they need to expand and more efficiently deliver remote care and telemedicine services.

"The healthcare industry has been talking about the promise of telemedicine for years," Andrew O'Hara, Chiron Health founder and CEO, said in a statement. "This partnership now allows thousands of athenahealth clients to seamlessly integrate video visits into their existing clinical workflow. We believe this is a major step forward in outpatient telemedicine that will enable physician practices across the country to provide more convenient access to patients."

Chiron Health aims to help physicians and mid-level providers connect and communicate with patients remotely using their existing devices. The HIPAA-compliant video conferencing could be used for routine-follow ups, medication adjustments and some minor urgent care issues.
