Kansas City, Mo.-based Cerner has been hard at work on its new $4.45 billion campus, and the health IT company has finally given it a new name, according to The Kansas City Star.
Formerly called the Trails campus, the new site was officially dubbed the Innovations campus on July 18.
Cerner COO Mike Nill said the new name encompasses the idea his company is hoping to encourage in the health IT community. "It will remind associates that innovation is crucial," Mr. Nill added, according to the report.
Construction on the campus will be completed by the end of this year, and employees are set to move in at the beginning of 2017. Eventually it will be home to 16,000 Cerner employees.
