Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph recently hosted the fifth annual Community Foundation of Missouri event. Cliff Illig, cofounder and board vice chairman of Cerner, spoke to the audience at the event, according to a News-Press Now report.
Here are three thoughts Mr. Illig shared on entrepreneurship and more, according to the report.
1. On starting the company. "The Cerner story started here [in St. Joseph]. We had to design it. We had to build it from scratch."
2. On Cerner's continued success. "We try; try very hard to stay entrepreneurial. We try to win the people game. Everything we're involved in starts with a vision. You have to be prepared to generate your results over the very long term."
3. On Cerner's vision today. "What do we have to do to make the population healthier?"
