Butler University launches student-run, multimedia healthcare journal

Students at Butler University in Indianapolis have launched BU Well, a multimedia, peer-reviewed healthcare review journal.

The open-access journal offers each healthcare article in three formats: a print piece, an informational video that includes an interview with the article's author and an infographic.

Approximately 30 students collaborated to create the journal, and they work with an external advisory board that includes healthcare and healthcare law professionals.

The inaugural issue's theme is "Wellness," and articles cover topics from using evidence-based medical apps in the clinical setting to the effects the workplace environment has on health to making employee wellness programs work.

The journal is scheduled to be published once a year, and next year's theme is "The Future of Healthcare.
