Boston is strengthening its claim on one of the top spots nationally for health and digital startups. Following the January announcement of a statewide digital health hub to grow the Massachusett's healthcare startup market, the City of Boston, the Massachusetts Digital Health Initiative and the nonprofit Massachusetts Competitive Partnership are collaborating on a new incubator space and a $26 million venture capital fund for investing in up-and-coming digital health companies, MedTech Boston reports.
The space, called Pulse@MassChallenge, is located in Boston's Fenway neighborhood and officially opened June 1. It is built to host three companies at a time throughout four yearly cycles, with applications currently being accepted for the September-December cycle.
Portions of the $26 million fund will be awarded to companies that either stay in Boston, start there or relocate there, according to MedTech Boston.
