The healthcare system of the Bahamas plans to implement the Allscripts Sunrise EHR in three hospitals and more than 100 clinics.
The Bahamian Ministry of Health and the Public Hospitals Authority is seeking to modernize its system and make healthcare more accessible to the population.
"Bahamian Ministry of Health and the Public Hospitals Authority chose the Allscripts solution because it will assist in deploying our national initiative to improve health and provide a single patient record in the Bahamas," said Herbert Brown, managing director of Public Hospitals Authority Bahamas. "Our national imperatives include improvements to the public system's infrastructure, medical equipment, access to medicine, medical technology and the development of an integrated information system."
