Apple employee's death was apparent suicide, coroner says

More details have been released regarding the death of a male employee at the Cupertino, Calif.-based headquarters of Apple, according to The Mercury News.

Around 8:35 a.m. April 27, authorities were called to Apple headquarters on reports of a man with a "head wound" who was found in a conference room.

The man, who was identified as 25-year-old Edward Thomas Mackowiak, committed suicide by shooting himself. "The medical examiner determined the manner of death was suicide and the cause was a gunshot to the head," the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office said in a news release, according to the report.
