The following HIPAA settlements were reported within the past eight weeks on Becker's Hospital Review. They are listed here in reverse chronological order from when they were reported.

1. Hollywood, Fla.-based Memorial Healthcare System agreed to implement a corrective action plan and paid HHS $5.5 million to settle claims it violated HIPAA. Read more

2. HHS' Office for Civil Rights fined Children's Medical Center of Dallas $3.2 million for failing to comply with HIPAA on multiple occasions. Read more

3. MAPFRE Life Insurance Company of Puerto Rico agreed to implement a corrective action plan and pay $2.2 million to HHS' Office for Civil Rights to settle claims it violated HIPAA. Read more

4. Chicago-based Presence Health agreed to implement a corrective action play and pay $475,000 to HHS' Office for Civil Rights to settle claims that the health system violated HIPAA. Read more
