3 more health IT startups to know

From patient engagement to pay-for-performance solutions, here are three health IT startups to know.  

Kyruus. Julie Yoo and Graham Gardner, MD, founded Kyruus, a physician referral management startup.
The company's platform Kyruus ProviderMatch, is designed to measure patients' and physicians' heterogeneity and then match physicians to patients with conditions they manage best. The platform leverages a proprietary big data technique. The company also offers KyruusOne, a provider data management resource.

Dr. Gardner and Ms. Yoo remain with the company, serving as CEO and chief product officer, respectively.

Kyruus' clients include healthcare providers such as ColumbiaDoctors in New York, Community Health Network in Indianapolis, Houston Methodist, Partners HealthCare in Boston, Mercy Health in Cincinnati, Keck Medicine of USC in Los Angeles and Providence Health & Services in Renton, Wash.

openDr. Founded in New York in 2011, openDr is a cloud-based enterprise platform designed to connect patients, physicians and staff with online appointments, registration and payments in real-time.
William Greenblatt and Josefina Jervis co-founded the company, initially focusing on creating an online appointment booking solution.

Today, the company has grown to become a comprehensive patient engagement software-as-a-service solution.
The company's platform is EMR/RIS system agnostic and is powered by a proprietary interface engine, openSync. openDr is partnering with different provider groups with the goal of improved online patient engagement. Most recently, the company signed an agreement with the New York-based group purchasing organization GNYHA Services. Through the agreement, GNYHA Services members will be able to offer physicians and patients digital self-scheduling tools.

The startup partners with health systems, radiology practices, medical practices and payers. openDr is a venture-backed startup. The company has 30 employees.

SA Ignite. SA Ignite is a privately funded health IT startup. Founded in 2009, the company provides pay-for-performance automation.
Today, the company has 30 employees. SA Ignite offers EHR-agnostic, cloud-based solutions and services aimed at automating the processes involved in pay-for-performance programs. The startup's flagship product is MU Assistant, an enterprise platform designed to automate the meaningful use process.

SA Ignite has more than 60 customers across more than 10 EHR brands. Since its founding, SA Ignite has helped more than 8,000 eligible providers gain $80 million-plus in Medicare and Medicaid incentives.

The startup serves large medical groups, health systems, academic medical centers, ACOs and EHR consultancies.
