On Thursday morning, the U.S. Supreme Court delivered its opinion on King v. Burwell regarding the fate of the tax subsidies under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. In a 6-3 decision, the SCOTUS determined the subsidies will be upheld.
The PPACA is undoubtedly a point of contention in the political sphere, with right-leaning lawmakers seeking to strike down the subsidies, largely as a blow to President Obama's larger healthcare reform efforts. Supporters of the subsidies cite the millions of previously uninsured Americans who now can afford coverage as one reason to uphold them.
Individuals across the political spectrum took to Twitter upon hearing the court's decision. Here are some of the best Tweets we saw responding to the King v. Burwell opinion.
Washington Post outlined how the justices were divided on the decision.
