West Park Hospital in Cody, Wyo., resolved billing issues it experienced earlier this summer with its new EHR system from health IT vendor Meditech, according to a Cody Enterprise report.
The hospital first announced the billing issues Aug. 3. WPH previously said in a statement the issue involves certain physician office charges mistakenly being billed on the patient statement. The hospital said the charges were sent to the insurance plan, but were "falling to the patient statement prior to a response being received from the insurance plan," the statement reads.
But the hospital said Meditech was able to go through the process of fixing the issue, according to the report.
"We placed all physician office statements on hold for the time being until this issue was fixed," Larry Ekdahl, patient financial director for the hospital, added. "Unfortunately, this is not a West Park Hospital system issue we could resolve on our end. We were in constant communication with Meditech to resolve this issue and are able to move forward now."
