Daytona Beach, Fla.-based Halifax Health is seeking new ways to boost revenue by taking advantage of its land assets, reports Daytona-Beach News-Journal.

1. Halifax Health officials are considering plans to commercially develop 93 acres of vacant land the hospital system currently owns in Daytona.
2. By creating a development district, Halifax would generate revenue by soliciting fees from commercial tenants that locate to the district, such as offices, apartments and other businesses.
3. Halifax Health Medical Center is seeking new sources of revenue in an effort to reduce its dependence on state and federal tax dollars to pay for services. Medicare and Medicaid insure about 61 percent of Halifax's patient population.
