The Professional Development Institute at the University of North Texas is offering an educational resource for individuals who seek to become physician-based coding professionals.
Here are three things to know.
1. PDI will offer its medical coding/billing certificate program beginning March 27 at the UNT New College of Frisco (Texas).
2. Through the 12-week program, participants may prepare for the Certified Medical Coder exam, and receive training required to sit for the test, among other things, according to a news release.
3. Those who graduate from the program will be prepared to do the following functions, as stated in the release:
- Medical billing and coding
- Admitting clerk
- Emergency room registration
- Hospital cashier
- Claims processor
- Collections clerk
- Medical front office
- Insurance follow-up
- Hospital accounting clerk
