North Mississippi Health Services, a nine-hospital system based in Tupelo, reported strong financial results for fiscal year 2015.
The health system ended the fiscal year with operating income of $43 million. That number exceeded the health system's operating income in FY 2014 by $20 million and its budget expectations by $8 million.
North Mississippi Health Services CFO Joe Reppert attributed the favorable financial results to higher patient volumes across nearly all services. Cost control efforts also helped boost the health system's finances in FY 2015.
Excluding bad debt, the health system reported revenue of $1 billion in FY 2015. North Mississippi Health Services ended the fiscal year with an operating margin of 4 percent.
