The Indian Health Services Hospital in Winnebago, Neb., will lose its Medicare and state Medicaid funding July 23 if it does not correct issues at the facility, according to a Sioux City Journal report.
At this time, CMS is unable to discuss the issues that caused the agency to notify the hospital of its pending funding cutoff. However, CMS said the issues were revealed in a survey of the facility in May, according to the report.
The hospital was issued a similar warning last year when it was faced with losing its funding if it did not make changes to its equipment and staff training. In that case, the hospital came up with a corrective action plan.
