Champion Medical Center, a specialty surgical hospital in Baton Rouge, La., is closing, according to The Advocate.
Champion Medical Center officials told the Louisiana Department of Health Thursday the hospital will close "in the very near future," according to the report. Louisiana law requires hospitals to give the state 30 days notice before closure.
The hospital, which opened in early 2014, specializes in spinal surgery, orthopedic and sports management, pain management, foot and ankle surgery, gastroenterology and breast reconstruction. It is owned by NextHealth, a for-profit company based in Dallas.
