LifePoint Health saw its revenue and profit increase in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2015, and the Brentwood, Tenn.-based hospital operator also posted stronger earnings for the year that ended Dec. 31.
Here are five things to know about LifePoint's most-recent financials.
1. LifePoint reported revenue of $1.37 billion in the fourth quarter of FY 2015, up 8.5 percent from the same quarter of the year prior. When looking at full-year 2015 results, LifePoint saw a 16.3 percent jump in revenue year over year.
2. For the fourth quarter of FY 2015, LifePoint reported its net income increased to $55.4 million, up from $26.7 million in the same period of FY 2014. The hospital operator's full-year profit jumped 43 percent year over year to $193 million.
3. "Overall, 2015 was a transformative year underscored by our continued progress on acquisitions, which will add approximately $1.25 billion of revenue this year," said LifePoint Chairman and CEO William F. Carpenter III, in the earnings release. LifePoint has acquired several hospitals in the past year, including Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Ind., Fleming County Hospital in Flemingsburg, Ky., and Watertown (Wis.) Regional Medical Center. This month, LifePoint completed its acquisition of Providence Hospitals, a two-hospital system in Columbia, S.C.
4. Based on LifePoint's strong earnings in 2015, Mr. Carpenter has a positive outlook for the year ahead. "We look forward to continuing to execute on our strategy and drive value for shareholders in 2016 and beyond," he said.
5. LifePoint released guidance for 2016, and it expects net revenue in the range of $6.45 billion to $6.55 billion.
