Bloomington-based Indiana University Health reported operating income of $340.7 million for the for the six-month period that ended June 30, down from operating income of $386.6 million in the same period of last year, according to the system's recently released unaudited financial statement.
The system saw its revenue increase in the six-month period, growing to $2.9 billion, up from $2.8 billion in the comparable period of 2014. The system also reported that its expenses increased from $2.4 billion in the first half of last year to $2.6 billion during the same period of 2015.
Admissions at the system's facilities increased nearly 2 percent during the six-month period that ended June 30 compared to the same period of 2014.
The system ended the first half of 2015 with a net surplus of $370.6 million, compared to a net surplus of $432.4 million in the same period of last year.
