Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Holdings saw its revenue and net income increase in the fourth quarter of 2015, creating positive momentum for the year ahead.
HCA reported revenues of $10.24 billion in the fourth quarter of 2015, up from $9.63 billion in the same period of the year prior. The financial boost was driven by a slight increase in patient volume, as same-facility admissions grew 1.6 percent in the fourth quarter of 2015 compared to the same quarter of 2014.
HCA posted net income of $582 million in the fourth quarter of 2015, up from $527 million in the same period of the year prior.
When looking at full year 2015 results, HCA said its revenue increased slightly over 2014 to $39.67 billion. The hospital network reported net income of $2.12 billion for 2015, up from $1.87 billion the year prior.
Based on its financial results for 2015, HCA expects revenues in the range of $41.5 billion to $42.5 billion for this year.
