For-profit hospital stock report: Week of July 6-10

Three of the five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices fall last week.

Up 5.48 percent last week, shares of Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corporation of America rose more than any other major for-profit hospital operator.

Here is how the five operators stack up.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $61.75 per share (down 1.25 percent).
  • Hospital Corporation of America (Nashville, Tenn.): $95.46 per share (up 5.48 percent).
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $86.65 per share (down 0.84 percent).
  • Tenet Healthcare Corp. (Dallas): $59.43 per share (up 0.39 percent).
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $140.04 per share (down 1.28 percent).
