For-profit hospital stock report: Week of July 17-21

Three of the five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices rise last week.

Among the major for-profit hospital operators, Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare saw the greatest increase in share price at 8.2 percent.

Here is how the five operators stacked up, as of July 21.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $9.27 per share (up 0.1 percent)
  • HCA Healthcare (Nashville, Tenn.): $85.73 per share (down 1.1 percent)
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $65.35 per share (down 0.1 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare (Dallas): $20.65 per share (up 8.2 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $124.42 per share (up 0.6 percent)
