San Francisco-based Dignity Health is teaming up with Forest Hills, N.Y.-based GoHealth Urgent Care in a joint venture to bring consumer-focused urgent care to the Bay Area.
In the first phase of the joint venture, it will open 12 urgent care centers in the next 12-15 months throughout the San Francisco area. The centers will operate on nights, weekends and during the week, and will accept walk-in patients. The centers will be equipped with basic laboratory and X-ray services and will be streamlined with Dignity Health's EHR.
"Our partnership with GoHealth will provide more options to Bay Area residents for fast and convenient care in a lower cost setting," Todd Strumwasser, MD, Dignity's senior vice president of operations for the Bay Area, said in statement. "These urgent care centers will be staffed with Dignity Health clinicians so that we can meet consumers where they are and provide the high quality care that we are known to deliver."
