Twenty-five percent of healthcare professionals feel "100 percent ready" to deploy bundled payments, according to an Archway Health survey.
Archway Health — a Boston-based provider of bundled payments programs — surveyed 70 healthcare executives, administrators and clinicians across hospitals, specialty care centers, post-acute facilities and home health care centers for its report.
The major reason respondents did not participate in bundled payments was due to possible administrative burden. While few respondents said they were completely ready to implement bundled payments, 56 percent said they are "getting prepared" or "just started the process."
Of those who did implement bundled payments, 75 percent of respondents believed doing so improved care quality, but did not necessarily lower costs. In comparison, 63 percent of respondents who rolled out bundled payments said the programs improved quality and lowered costs.
