7 recent hospital, health system capital projects

Here are seven capital projects at hospitals and health systems that were recently announced or completed.

1. Sentara Norfolk (Va.) General Hospital launched a $199 million expansion and modernization project.

2. New Orleans-based Ochsner Health System unveiled a $360 million expansion plan. The project will include expansions across the system's north, west and south campuses, with targeted completion dates in 2019.

3. Baltimore-based LifeBridge Health opened a $5 million medical building in Randallstown in Baltimore County. The 13,800-square foot Liberty Center marks the first phase of a larger expansion project for the system's Northwest Hospital that is estimated to cost between $20 million and $25 million.

4. Valhalla, N.Y.-based Westchester Medical Center Health Network plans to build a $230 million, 280,000-square-foot ambulatory care pavilion adjacent to Westchester Medical Center on its Valhalla campus.

5. St. Francis Medical Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., updated its hospital expansion plans to include 34,000 more square feet of space than originally planned.

6. Waupun (Wis.) Memorial Hospital will start a $23 million expansion project in April.

7. Albuquerque, N.M.-based Presbyterian Healthcare Services is building a $135 million hospital and outpatient facility in Santa Fe, N.M.
