1. Baptist Health starts construction of new cancer center
Jacksonville, Fla.-based Baptist Health broke ground Thursday on a new destination cancer center, which will provide individualized, comprehensive and advanced cancer care, according to News4JAX.
2. OhioHealth plans network of freestanding EDs
Columbus-based OhioHealth allocated $60 million to launch a network of freestanding emergency departments, slated to open in 2018, reports The Columbus Dispatch.
3. San Antonio Regional Hospital Foundation reaches $12M expansion goal
This week the San Antonio Regional Hospital Foundation collected the final dollars needed for its $12 million expansion project, the Daily Bulletin reported.
4. In Ohio's Cuyahoga County, a proposal for a new 25-bed hospital
Old Greenwich, Conn.-based Horse Island Asset Management shared plans to build a four-story, $50 million hospital with 25 beds and an office medical building in Beachwood, Ohio, The Plain Dealer reported.
5. Navicent Health to construct children's hospital
Macon, Ga.-based Navicent Health, formally known as the Medical Center of Central Georgia, will build a replacement children's hospital, 13 WMAZ reported.
6. $425M to be borrowed for Guam Memorial Hospital renovations
The governor of Guam, Eddie Calvo, presented legislation to borrow $425 million and raise taxes to pay for improvements at Guam Memorial Hospital Authority, Pacific Daily News reported.
7. Calif. hospital budgets for $204M expansion
El Camino Hospital will set aside $204 million in the 2016-17 fiscal year to expand its campus in Mountain View, Calif.
8. SSM Health unveils plans for $550M academic medical center
St. Louis-based SSM Health unveiled plans for its new $550 million academic medical center. The 316-bed, 802,000-square-foot facility will replace the current hospital and outpatient care center at SSMHealthSt. LouisUniversityHospital.
9. Greater Fairbanks Community Hospital Foundation to raise $1.2M for surgery center
Greater Fairbanks (Alaska) Community Hospital Foundation will raise $1.2 million to help fund an $88 million surgery center replacement project at Banner Health Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, the News-Miner reported.
10. Marshfield Clinic Health System to build new hospital
Eau Claire, Wis.-based Marshfield Clinic Health System has announced its new "Caring for the ChippewaValley" plan, which includes the construction of a new hospital with an attached cancer care center, according to the Hub City Times.
11. Palomar, Kindred agree to build acute rehabilitation facility: 4 things to know
Escondido, Calif.-based Palomar Health and Louisville, Ky.-based Kindred Healthcare will collaborate to build a 52-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital.
12. Baylor Scott & White teams up with Dallas Cowboys to build sports med complex
Dallas-based Baylor Scott & White collaborated with the Dallas Cowboys to build a new sports medicine facility in Frisco, Texas. Officials from both organizations shared details for the $100 million project Wednesday, according to The Dallas Morning News.
