1. Regional Hospital of Scranton invests $15M in new heart center
Regional Hospital of Scranton (Pa.) is building a $15 million, 12,000-square-foot heart care center, according to The Times-Tribune.
2. New cancer center opens at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County
Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County in New Albany, Miss., completed a $600,000 renovation that turned the former emergency department into the Baptist Cancer Center, according to a Daily Journal report.
3. Colorado hospital breaks ground on office building
Construction of the new St. Thomas More Hospital medical office building in Cañon City, Colo., broke ground Aug. 16, according to The Daily Record.
4. ProMedica to build hospital on top of golf course
Toledo, Ohio-based ProMedica will build its new Monroe Regional Hospital on top of the golf course at the current Raisin River Golf Club, according to the Monroe News.
5. West Springs Hospital's planned $34M psychiatric facility gets funding boost
The expansion of a psychiatric facility in Grand Junction, Colo., moved closer to reality following a recent donation, according to a KJCT report.
6. Duke LifePoint to build $206M hospital in Michigan
Duke LifePoint Healthcare will build a $206 million hospital in Marquette, Mich.
7. West Maui Hospital to open in Hawaii
Construction at West Maui (Hawaii) Hospital is underway after a groundbreaking ceremony was held Aug. 15, according to a Maui Now report.
8. Emory Johns Creek Hospital submits plans for $12M renovations
Emory Johns Creek (Ga.) Hospital filed proposals to the Georgia Department of Community Health for a 14,000-square-foot addition to its facility, Atlanta Business Chronicle reported.
9. Texas Health Resources to unveil $25M ICU expansion Sept. 1
Arlington-based Texas Health Resources plans to open its new intensive care unit at Bedford-based Texas Health Methodist Hospital HEB on Sept. 1, according to the Star-Telegram.
10. Mercy Medical Center plans $500M expansion
Mercy Medical Center is planning a $500 million expansion project at its main campus in Des Moines, Iowa.
11. Medical University of South Carolina breaks ground on $385M children's hospital
Charleston-based Medical University of South Carolina broke ground on a $385 million children's hospital Friday, according to the Charleston Regional Business Journal.
