Ridgewood, N.J.-based Valley Health System's new "smart hospital" in Paramus, N.J., is using Meditech's Expanse EHR system.
The 370-bed facility utilizes the Meditech Expanse EHR alongside other technologies to enhance operations across the organization, spanning from network infrastructure to clinical procedures and administrative tasks, according to a May 2 news release from Meditech.
For example, the facility offers amenities such as 75-inch monitors at the footwall allowing patients to access medical data and control room settings such as lighting and temperature. Room monitors also utilize real-time location tracking to show the identity of care providers entering, and AI-enhanced video monitoring helps identify indications of possible falls by analyzing patient movements.
