Memphis, Tenn.-based Le Bonheur Children's Hospital opened its expanded neonatal intensive care unit March 28, the first step in a $95.4 million, four-story expansion project.
The recently opened expansion adds 14 beds to the existing 60-bed unit to help accommodate hospital growth.
"This expansion will provide us space and support for this special and unique program that children from throughout the region depend on Le Bonheur for this level of care," Trey Eubanks, MD, president of Le Bonheur Children's, said in a news release shared with Becker's.
Le Bonheur comprises a 255-bed hospital in Memphis and a 21-bed satelite hospital in Jackson, Tenn., with more than 350 pediatricians and specialists. It has more than 45 pediatric subspecialties, community programs, regional outpatient centers and a pediatric research institute.
