Building on their two decade relationship, Great Neck, N.Y.-based Northwell Health and New York City-based EmblemHealth have partnered in a risk-sharing agreement.
Through the agreement, the organizations will utilize each other to better manage patient access, outcomes and cost of care. The partnership stresses population health management, the switch to a value-based model and increased collaborative care initiatives. Eventually, EmblemHealth and Northwell Health hope to engage in risk-sharing agreements.
"As a New York state leader on innovative value-based relationships, EmblemHealth is proud to partner with Northwell to drive greater access to the high-quality care our members receive," said EmblemHealth President and CEO Karen Ignagni, according to the press release.
Northwell President and CEO Michael Dowling agreed. "During this time of market volatility, it's great to have a long-standing relationship with Emblem that continues to add value to all the stakeholders — especially to the patients in need of coordinated, accessible and affordable health services," he said, according to the press release.
