Cleveland Clinic Innovations. Cleveland Clinic Innovations was founded in 2000 to assess, build, test and market inventive ideas from the health system's more than 51,000 caregivers. The center's team — comprised of market analysts, subject matter experts and former medical industry leaders — offers strategic advice to inventors and, when appropriate, connects investors to investment and operational professionals to facilitate fundraising and governance efforts. One venture, a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company called Alios BioPharma, was acquired by Johnson & Johnson in 2014, eight years after its founding in 2006.
