Former UnitedHealth CEO's insurance company has raised $1B+

Bright Health, the health insurance startup run by the former CEO of UnitedHealth Group, has raised more than $1 billion after another big funding round, according to The Wall Street Journal.

In its latest funding round, Bright Health netted $635 million in venture capital funding, pushing its total equity funding past the $1 billion threshold.

Bright Health was formed in 2015 and is led by former UnitedHealth CEO Bob Sheehy. The plan offers individual, family and Medicare Advantage plans.
