KentuckyOne Health is the latest system in Kentucky to formulate from healthcare reform, and starting tomorrow, Melvin Alexander will lead the system in all things finance as CFO.
Louisville-based KentuckyOne Health combined three area hospitals and health systems — Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's HealthCare in Louisville, Saint Joseph Health System in Lexington, Ky., and the University of Louisville's University Medical Center.
Mr. Alexander, a certified public accountant, will join KentuckyOne Health from St. Louis-based SSM Health Care, where he served as corporate vice president of finance and treasury. For the past four years at SSM, he helped restructure its $2.6 billion investment portfolio and redesigned the capital purchasing process.
Mr. Alexander has served as CFO of several other hospitals and health systems as well, including Lake Norman Regional Medical Center in Mooresville, N.C., North Oaks Health System in Hammond, La., and Norman (Okla.) Regional Health System. He also served in the U.S. Air Force as an officer in the Medical Service Corps for eight years.
