Hospitals with highest, lowest heart attack payments

Among all U.S. hospitals, Murray, Utah-based Intermountain Medical Center had the best value of care for heart attack patients between July 1, 2020, and June 30, 2023, according to CMS data released Feb. 19. 

The hospital also had a better mortality rate for heart attack patients than the national rate, the data showed. 

CMS reports individual hospital results for heart attack payment and mortality together to help patients assess the facility’s overall value of care.

The national average payment for heart attack patients was $28,355.
