Schenectady, N.Y.-based Ellis Medicine announced construction has begun on the $16.8 million expansion of its Bellevue Woman's Center.
The 32,000-square-foot expansion will include 28 rooms, the Neil and Jane Golub Breast Care Center and imaging services. The breast care center and imaging services will be relocated from the current hospital space to the addition. The expansion is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
The Bellevue Woman's Center will also be renovated, a project that is scheduled to be completed by September 2013. The renovation will expand the neonatal intensive care unit and nursery, redesign the lobby and add a new nurses' station.
