Most socially responsible hospital in every state, per Lown Institute

The Lown Institute published its 2024 list of America's most socially responsible hospitals June 25, highlighting the top hospitals for social responsibility in every state.

To compile the list, the nonpartisan healthcare think tank assessed more than 2,700 acute care hospitals and 800 critical access hospitals nationwide. The evaluation analyzed up to 54 metrics related to health equity, value of care and patient outcomes, with equity receiving a higher overall weight this year compared to previous rankings. Lown used publicly available data from CMS and the IRS, among other sources, for its analysis. Learn more about the methodology here

Overall, 154 hospitals earned "A" grades for equity, care value and outcomes, earning them a spot on the Lown Index Honor Roll.
