Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb has become the first U.S. hospital to install the Philips Rembra CT system for acute and high-demand imaging environments.

The hospital is using the system in its emergency and general radiology departments, according to a Sept. 17 news release. The FDA-cleared system combines advanced detector technology, AI-enabled workflows and rapid image reconstruction.

The CT system can support up to 270 patient exams per day in throughput testing. The system also has an 85-centimeter bore designed to facilitate patient access and positioning.
