Hospital-Acquired Disease Testing Market to Reach $7.5B in 2019

The global hospital-acquired disease testing market is expected to be valued at $7.5 billion in 2019, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 19.3 percent, according to a Transparency Market Research news release.

In 2012, the market was valued at $2.2 billion.

The global hospital-acquired disease testing market is broken down by types of infection:  pneumonia, urinary tract infection, blood stream infection, surgical site infection, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and "others."

Diagnostic products for hospital-acquired UTIs occupy the largest market share, as it has the highest prevalence, morbidity rate and demand for diagnostic solutions, according to the news release. This market segment itself is expected to reach $2.19 billion in 2019, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 18.1 percent.

Major growth drivers for the healthcare-acquired disease testing market include the existence of highly developed healthcare infrastructure, high rate of healthcare guidelines implementation and an increased awareness of disease prevention, according to the news release.
