Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia has named Andrea DiPietro, PharmD, as associate vice president and the organization’s first chief pharmacy officer.

Amy Gallagher, vice president of operations at CHOP, said in a Sept. 14 LinkedIn post that the creation of the chief pharmacy officer role reflects the hospital’s “commitment to strengthening pharmacy as a strategic driver of quality, safety, innovation and growth.”

Dr. DiPietro joined CHOP in September after serving Philadelphia-based Bainbridge Health since 2022, according to her LinkedIn profile. She was most recently vice president of clinical solutions and strategy at Bainbridge, a medication safety solutions company.

Before Bainbridge, Dr. DiPietro worked at Wilmington, Del.-based Nemours for 11 years, serving as a clinical pharmacist, pharmacy manager and director of pharmacy clinical operations and medication safety officer.
