Hospitals and health systems have made several pharmacy leadership changes in recent weeks. Here are seven recent moves:
- Phoenix Children’s has named Mike Skafi, RPh, chief pharmacy officer. Mr. Skafi most recently served as assistant vice president of pharmacy and interim senior vice president and chief pharmacy officer at Providence, where he helped oversee pharmacy operations across the seven-state system. He also brings executive pharmacy leadership experience from Phoenix-based Banner Health and Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems.
- Renton, Wash.-based Providence named Brad Myers, PharmD, chief pharmacy officer, effective Aug. 24. Dr. Myers currently serves as chief administrative officer for University of Oklahoma Health, where he oversees pharmacy, laboratory and radiology services. He previously held leadership roles at McKesson Corp., University of Missouri Health Care and Norfolk, Va.-based Sentara Health. He succeeds Elie Bahou, PharmD, who stepped down after eight years in the role.
- The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City has named Katherine Miller, PharmD, as vice president of pharmacy and health professions, according to a LinkedIn post. She previously led the system’s acute care pharmacy and clinical nutrition teams for a decade.
- Homestead (Fla.) Hospital, part of Coral Gables, Fla.-based Baptist Health South Florida, named Amy Montes, PharmD, director of pharmacy. Dr. Montes has worked at Baptist Health since 2017, most recently as pharmacy operations manager, and previously served as pharmacy supervisor and pharmacy cardiology specialist.
- Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital has named Amanda Beck, PharmD, director of hospital operations and pharmacy after 11 years with the system. In the new role, she will work with the hospital’s COO to oversee performance excellence, facilities, environmental services, food and nutrition services and pharmacy. Dr. Beck most recently served as director of pharmacy at Houston Methodist from June 2024 to June 2026.
- Ann Arbor-based Michigan Medicine has named Matt Pond, PharmD, as associate chief pharmacy officer, pharmacy business operations. Dr. Pond previously served as chief pharmacy officer and senior vice president of Scottsdale, Ariz.-based HonorHealth from 2018 to 2021, and as chief pharmacy officer and system vice president of Fountain Valley, Calif.-based MemorialCare from 2017 to 2018.
- Paterson, N.J.-based St. Joseph’s Health has named Susan Jacob, PharmD, system director of pharmacy. Dr. Jacob most recently served as assistant director of clinical pharmacy services at NYC Health + Hospitals and spent 11 years before that at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in pharmacy leadership and operations roles.
