The list collects recommendations from thousands of pharmacists for more than 130 product categories.
The No.1 pharmacist-recommended over-the-counter products in 35 categories:
- Antacids: Tums (winning 60 percent of pharmacists' votes)
- Antidiarrheals: Imodium (winning 89 percent of pharmacists' votes)
- Antihistamines for allergies: Claritin (winning 39 percent of pharmacists' votes)
- Arthritis and joint pain treatment: Voltaren gel (winning 39 percent of pharmacists' votes)
- Aspirin for heart health: Bayer (winning 64 percent of pharmacists' votes)
- Bandages, covers and gauze: Band-Aid (winning 62 percent of pharmacists' votes)
- Blood glucose monitors: OneTouch (winning 29 percent of pharmacists' votes)
- Children's pain relief: Children's Tylenol (winning 65 percent of pharmacists' votes)
- Cholesterol management: Nature Made Fish Oil (winning 39 percent of pharmacists' votes)
- Cold remedies: Cepacol (winning 34 percent of pharmacists' votes)
- Cough suppressants: Delsym (winning 45 percent of pharmacists' votes)
