A community organization in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn has started a petition opposing the proposed expansion of New York Methodist Hospital, according to an article in the Brooklyn Daily Eagle.
The group, called Preserve Park Slope, works to preserve historical and architectural characteristics of neighborhood. Preserve Park Slope cites issues such as building demolition and increased traffic as potential disruptions to the neighborhood.
Lyn Hill, a spokesperson for N.Y. Methodist, said the expansion will better serve the influx of patients who are using their services.
