Sacramento-based Mercy General Hospital has laid off an unspecified number of employees, including 14 union members, according to report by The Sacramento Bee.
The 14 union employees are members of SEIU-United Healthcare Workers West, according to the report.
A hospital spokesperson told The Sacramento Bee that Mercy General "will continue to assess and align our resources while maintaining the quality of care our patients deserve" as the hospital experiences a change in demand for care.
