Tucson, Ariz.-based Carondelet Health Network has laid off 40 corporate office employees, according to an Arizona Daily Star report. The system is restructuring its staff, and the layoffs are a result of its restructuring project, according to the report. Carondelet officials cited sequestration and the cost of caring for the uninsured as reasons for the layoffs.
The layoffs have had no direct effect on patient care, according to the report.
